TogetherLens Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of TogetherLens (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. Mandatory consumer rights in your country continue to apply.

1. Service Overview

TogetherLens creates new AI-generated group portraits from individual face photos. Images are processed through our application servers and routed by fal.ai to the applicable model provider, currently Google for portrait generation/editing and Topaz Labs for upscaling. RevenueCat and the applicable app store help manage one-time purchases and optional subscriptions.

Generated images can contain mistakes, including inaccurate faces, hands, clothing, text, objects, or backgrounds. Review every result before sharing, relying on it, or ordering a print. Generated images are creative content and must not be presented as documentary evidence when that would mislead someone.

2. Your Content and Permission

You retain ownership of photos and other content you upload ("User Content").
You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, transmit, transform, and display User Content only as needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service, including sending it through fal.ai to the applicable model provider.
You must have the right and all legally required consent to upload every person shown. A parent or legal guardian must provide any required permission for a child.
We do not claim ownership of generated output. Subject to third-party rights and provider terms, you may use output for personal, non-commercial purposes.

3. Free Trial Preview and Abuse Protection

Eligible new users can request one free preview associated with a person/device. The preview is generated at 0.5K, resized to a maximum 512-pixel dimension, and includes a visible “TogetherLens Preview - Upgrade for HD” watermark. It involves no charge and does not start a subscription.

The free preview is limited to one successful redemption per eligible person/device, not one per reinstall. You may not remove or obscure the trial watermark, automate trial creation, manipulate device/network signals, create duplicate identities, or bypass Apple App Attest, Google Play Integrity, rate limits, or another abuse control. We may reject a trial request when integrity proof is missing or abuse signals indicate repeated redemption.

Deleting app data removes the corresponding session data but may leave a keyed successful-redemption tombstone until 180 days after the original redemption and a keyed deletion fence for up to 395 days. These records prevent deletion, reinstalling, or an in-flight request from resetting the trial or recreating deleted data.

4. Participant Invites

A creator may send an unguessable invite link so another person can provide their own portrait. Invites expire after seven days. The creator must share the link only with intended participants, and participants must submit only content they are entitled to use.

Contribution files use an unguessable but technically public temporary CDN URL for up to seven days. Anyone who obtains the link during that period may be able to access it. Do not forward invite or contribution links outside the intended group.

The creator and participant can request deletion through the available authenticated controls. Deletion removes TogetherLens database pointers immediately; ordinary expiry is handled by daily cleanup. Third-party media keeps the forced maximum seven-day lifetime measured from each file’s creation, as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Acceptable Use

You may not use the Service to:

Violate privacy, publicity, intellectual-property, consumer-protection, or other rights.
Upload a person without the consent or lawful basis required for your use.
Create sexual, exploitative, abusive, or otherwise unlawful content involving a minor.
Impersonate, defraud, harass, shame, threaten, or deceptively manipulate another person.
Present a generated scene as authentic evidence in a legal, medical, political, financial, news, employment, or similarly consequential context.
Reverse engineer, probe, disrupt, overload, scrape, automate, or bypass security, integrity, watermark, payment, trial, or rate-limit systems.
Resell the Service or use output commercially unless we have agreed separately in writing.

We may refuse a generation, remove access, or suspend a session when reasonably necessary to enforce these rules, protect people, or comply with law.

6. Purchases, One-Time Packs, and Optional Premium

One-Time Image Packs are consumable purchases that add the number of non-expiring generation tokens shown in the app at purchase time. They do not create a subscription.
Premium is optional and auto-renewing. The billing period, included tokens/features, local price, trial or introductory terms (if any), and renewal terms are displayed by Apple or Google before confirmation.
A subscription is not required to use a purchased one-time pack.
App-store rules govern charging, renewal, cancellation, restoration, taxes, and refunds. Cancel an auto-renewing plan through the applicable store before its renewal deadline.
Prices, package sizes, and features may change prospectively. A change does not remove already purchased non-expiring consumable tokens except where required to address fraud, chargeback, or legal misuse.

Paid generation failures are designed to return or reconcile the affected token automatically. If a balance still appears wrong after a failed job, contact support with the attempt information shown in the app so we can investigate. This does not limit refund or consumer rights provided by law or the app store.

7. Image Handling and Analytics

Original uploads are used for processing and are not persisted on our own application servers beyond the request. Local face crops and generated history remain on your device until you clear local data. TogetherLens gives fal.ai uploads and outputs a maximum seven-day lifetime from object creation; deleting app data removes our references but does not restart that clock.

Client lifecycle analytics is optional. Those client events are not uploaded until you opt in and never contain photos, prompts, filenames, raw IP addresses, or advertising IDs. Essential server-side API, service-delivery, billing, idempotency, integrity, abuse-prevention, and security records are created as needed whenever you use the corresponding feature and do not depend on analytics consent.

To recover non-expiring tokens after a short-lived app session expires, TogetherLens retains a minimal keyed device-to-purchaser mapping until you use Delete My Data. Completed idempotency records can also retain a provider request identifier and an earlier media URL as text for up to 180 days, even though the underlying media expires within seven days and the URL may no longer work. 8. Third-Party Services

TogetherLens relies on service providers including Hetzner for application hosting; Cloudflare for DNS, website/static delivery, API reverse proxy, TLS, and security filtering; Turso/libSQL for pseudonymous database records; fal.ai for temporary media and AI request routing; Google and Topaz Labs as the current underlying model providers; RevenueCat for purchases; Convex for consent-based website analytics; Telegram for pseudonymous operational alerts; and Apple and Google for their platform services. Their terms and privacy policies apply to their services. Platform or provider outages can affect availability.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service software, branding, app/site content, and non-user assets are owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. Except where these Terms or law allow it, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create a competing service from them.

10. Availability and Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise uninterrupted operation, a particular generation time, exact facial likeness, error-free output, or suitability for a particular print or purpose. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or remedy that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or loss of data, profit, or revenue. Where a monetary cap is permitted, our total liability for a claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

These limits do not apply where prohibited, including liability that cannot be limited for intent, gross negligence, injury, mandatory product liability, or statutory consumer guarantees.

12. Termination and Deletion

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend access for a material breach, credible security risk, fraud, chargeback, or legal requirement. You can use Clear Local Data and Delete My Data as described in the Privacy Policy.

Deletion may not remove the limited keyed deletion/fraud markers, pseudonymized transaction records, or third-party messages/media with the retention limits described in the Privacy Policy. Terms that must logically survive termination—including ownership, acceptable-use responsibility, disclaimers, and lawful liability limits—continue to apply.

13. Changes

We may update the Service or these Terms. We will provide legally required notice of material changes. Changes apply prospectively from their stated effective date; continued use after that date constitutes acceptance where law permits.

14. Governing Law

For EU/EEA consumers, German law applies without removing mandatory protections or the right to bring a claim in the courts available under consumer law. For other users, German law applies to the extent local mandatory rules permit.
